Why the Czech Republic?

Why serve as missionaries in the Czech Republic?

Today, the Czech Republic is the most atheistic nation in the world.  Recent statistics suggest that atheism represents the beliefs of approximately 60% of Czechs.  Meanwhile, born-again Christians represent a mere 1-2% of the population.  In Southern Bohemia, that percentage drops to approximately 0.2%-0.5% of the population, making the Czechs of Southern Bohemia one of the most unevangelized peoples in the world. 

We will be working in partnership with a regional team of missionaries and the Czech Baptist Union to plant Bible-believing churches in Southern Bohemia.  Specifically, we will be moving into the Cesky Budejovice/Cesky Krumlov area to encourage and support a church plant that exists in Cesky Budejovice, and assist in planting a new church in Cesky Krumlov.  Our "20/20 Vision" in partnership with ABWE and a growing team of missionaries, is to see a national church planting movement established throughout our region by the year 2020.
